Gary Gerhardt Memorial

This is a one day scratch singles tournament on Sunday, March 13, 2022 that also includes a 3-man scratch sweeper event with 4 shifts the day before on Saturday, March 12.  The singles tournament includes a 4-game qualifying round with a cut to the top 32 followed by one game double elimination match play and then a stepladder final.  There are two qualifying shifts on Sunday at 8 am and 11 am.  Re-entry is allowed if spots are available.  Entry fee is $90.  There is added money in both events.   Please see attached flyer.  It shows more information including a full explanation of the 3-man sweeper event and how to enter.  This is also the primary fundraiser for the Gary Gerhardt Memorial scholarship fund.  Gary Gerhardt was a long time Bozeman proprietor and owner/manager of Country Lanes.

Westside Lanes Swiss Trio Calcutta

This is a trio team event conducted on one day only - February 6, 2022.  There is a 615 team average limit.  Entry fee is $225 per team.  Added money also.  A calcutta auction will be held before the start of the tournament on Sunday morning.  Call Westside Lanes in Missoula for more information - (406) 721-5263.

Women's 600 Club and 500 Club Mail-A-Graphic Tny

This is a tournament for Montana women only. It is a handicap singles event with an optional Blind Doubles event. A woman must be a member of the Montana State 600 or 500 Club or a National 600 or 500 Club member. If not a member of those respective clubs, membership can be obtained with a one-time membership fee of $5.00 and submitting the respective membership application to the tournament director.

This is a mail-o-graphic tournament, which means that an entrant's scores will be determined by their USBC league scores rolled between Jan. 31 and Feb. 11, 2022. A player may enter in each league in which they have at least 12 games prior to Jan. 31, 2022. Final score verification forms and average must be returned to the Tournament Chairman, Eileen Nelson, by Feb. 18, 2022. Entry deadline is Jan. 24, 2022. A woman can enter in any Montana bowling center as long as that league is USBC certified.

Singles entry fee is $15 per each league entered. Optional Blind Doubles entry fee is $10 per each league entered.

Attached are each tournament's respective entry forms with rules plus applications to join the respective 600 & 500 Clubs, if necessary. A tournament flyer is also attached.

Westside Lanes Annual Mixed Doubles Calcutta

This is a handicap mixed doubles tournament with a 3-game qualifying round on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, and match game play on Sunday, Jan. 9, featuring the top 32 qualifying teams from Saturday.  Handicap is based on 80% of a 420 team average based on 2020-21 end-of-season averages.  There will be 3 qualifying shifts on Saturday @ noon, 2:30 and 6 pm with lanes conditioned prior to the noon and 6 pm shifts.  There will be a calcutta auction following the end of the last qualifying shift.  Entry fee is $80 per team.  There is $1,200 added money.  See attached flyer for more information.

Pepsi Youth Bowling Championships

This is a youth tournament with qualifying beginning at the league level.  There are two qualifying windows in league.   The first will be November 5-19, 2021 and the second qualifying window will be January 7-21, 2022.  No pre-bowl or post-bowl scores are allowed.  Advancement will be 1 for every 4 with a minimum of 2 for each division.  State finals will be April 1-3, 2022, at Star Lanes in Butte, MT.  This is a scratch tournamnet except that there is a handicap event in which all entrants will automatically be entered that will also award scholarships.  In that event, handicap will be 90% of 225 using the higher of last year's average or March 1, 2022.  The top 5 scorers with handicap in each division will receive scholarships.  

There are 10 age-based divisions - 5 boys and 5 girls.  Each of the 10 divisions has their own entry form and entry fees.  Deadline for entries is March 15, 2022.  The U12, U15 and U18 division champions will receive a berth from USBC into the 2022 Junior Gold Championships to be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

39th Annual Jeanette Martinich Classic

September 25-26, 2021Star Lanes - Butte, MT

This is a scratch singles tournament for women only.  Qualifying shifts on Saturday, Sept. 25 @ 3 pm & 6 pm.  Bowl 5 games moving a pair of lanes after each game.  Total scratch pin fall will determine top 12 or more qualifiers.  *TOP 16 scorers advance to the Finals on Sunday, Sept. 26.  (Top qualifying to Sunday may be adjusted depending on entries).  Sunday @ 10 am Sharp:  Scores start fresh.  Top 16 advancers will be divided into pools of 8 bowlers, who will then bowl one-game matches against all in their pool followed by a one-game position round.  The top 5 will then bowl the Eliminator Format each game until only two players remain.  See the rules/format attachment for further explanations.  Entry fee is $75.  This is also a qualifier to win a paid entry into the USBC Queens or Senior Queens tournament that is conducted in the spring of 2022.  Montana resident women may pay an optional entry fee of $20 for a chance to win a Queens entry.  Contact Tournament Manager, Laurie Tripp @ (406) 498-4167 for more information or to reserve spots.

2021 Montana USBC Senior State Tournament

                This is a state tournament for men and women, who are 50 years old and up.   There are two divisions – Mixed and Women, and 6 age classifications.  Women may enter either the Mixed division or the Women’s division, but not both.  The age classifications start with E (age 50-54) and ascend in 5-year increments until the Super Senior group (age 75 +).  All divisions are handicapped based on a bowler’s Montana 5-year Tournament Average (21 game minimum) or their 2020-21 year-end final average (21 game min.) if they have no valid Montana tournament average.  All entrants bowl 6 games in two 3-game blocks. 
                Tournament will be held at Glacier Lanes in Cut Bank, Montana, starting Friday, Sept. 24 and ending on Sunday, October 17 (4 weekends).  There are a total of 7 shifts each weekend – one on Fridays @ 6 pm, four on Saturdays @ 10 am, 12:30 pm, 3 pm and 5:30 pm, and two on Sundays @ 9 am and 11:30 am.  Lanes will be stripped and oiled prior to every shift.  Entry fee is $55.
                In addition to a prize fund per division, each age classification winner will receive a paid entry and shirt to the 2022 Senior National Championships at a date and location yet to be determined.

ATTENTION STATE TOURNAMENT BOWLERS:

BOWLERS WISHING TO ENTER ANY OF THE 2021 MONTANA STATE TOURNAMENTS (except Pepsi YBC) WILL BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THEIR ENTRY FORM(S) ONLINE AT THIS WEBSITE, BE ABLE TO SELECT THEIR SHIFTS IN REAL TIME AND PAY ALL ENTRY FEES. This is the state tournament for ladies. It will run for four weekends starting; April 23, 2021 and end May 16, 2021. Friday night shifts at 6pm will be available every weekend. Entry deadline will be on Sunday, May 16 at start of final scheduled shift. Team event will be held at Town & Country Lanes. Doubles/Singles will be held at Fireside Lanes. Team event will consist of 4-member teams. A person may bowl team an unlimited number of times, but must change at least two members every time. AGAIN this year: Bowlers will be allowed to participate in doubles up to 3 times providing they change partners each time and also enter singles each time. Handicap will be the same as last year at 90% of 225. Online entries form will be accepted on this website starting February 1, 2021. AGAIN this year: The entering average will be your 5-year Montana State tournament average (21 game minimum). The list will be posted on this website in December 2020. If no legal Montana State tournament average is available, then a bowler must use the higher of her 2019-20 end-of-season average or January 1, 2021, average (21 game minimum). Non-Montana residents may participate only if they have a 21-game average in a 2020-21 USBC certified Montana league.
