The 2015 All American Family Tournament national finals was held in Chicago, Illinois July 8-10, 2015. Montana had 4 teams participating in various divisions. One team placed 1st and two others placed 3rd respectively in their divisions. Unfortunately, that tournament has not been continued for the 2015-16 season. Check this website for more information on this event for the 2016-17 season.
The universal state Youth Scholarship application has a March 1st deadline. Several thousands of dollars are available for high school seniors in 2016. This year the Montana Bowling Proprietors Association has joined with the Montana USBC association and will be using the same application. It is for high school seniors who have bowled youth leagues in Montana for at least 3 years. To be eligible for the MBPA scholarships, a youth must have also bowled at least 21 games in a BPAA member center. If unsure, check the list of bowling centers on a separate tab on this site. The universal application can be found on this site on the Youth tab and also on the Downloads tab of the website: www.mtusbc.org. The proprietors now have a total of 4 scholarships each worth $500.00 - two for boys and two for girls. The Montana USBC has one scholarship worth $1,000, two scholarships worth $750 each and two scholarships worth $500 each.
The 2016 Open State tournament will be held in Helena at Sleeping Giant Lanes (team event and dbls/sgls). Team event will consist of 4-member teams. Entrants may still bowl the team event an unlimited number of times, but must change at least two members each time. This event will run for 8 weekends starting April 2 and ending on May 22. Entry forms are now available to download from this website on the Tournament tab and also on the Downloads tab of www.mtusbc.org.
The 2016 Women's State tournament will be conducted in Great Falls. Team event will be conducted at the Elks Lanes with doubles/singles being held at Little's Lanes. The tournament will run for 4 weekends including all Friday nights starting April 22 and ending May 15. Entry forms are now available on the Tournament tab of this site and also on the Downloads tab of www.mtusbc.org.
The MUSBC Youth State Tournament will be held in Missoula on April 2 thru April 17, 2016 (3 weekends). All of the events will be conducted at Westside Lanes. Entry forms are now available for download on this website and also on the Downloads tab of www.mtusbc.org.
Please note that Montana State Association Manager, Tom Brendgord, will not be the central coordinator, nor tournament director for any of the 2016 state tournaments. Tournament entries for those events will have to be submitted to their respective tournament managers whose addresses and phone numbers appear on the back page of each entry form. Email entries are also highly encouraged. Montana USBC state tournament Standing Rules are posted for each respective tournament on the Tournament Tab.
The 2016 Pepsi Youth Bowling Championships will be conducted at Star Lanes in Butte on April 29, 30, and May 1, 2016. Debbie Martinich will be the Tournament Director. Go to www.butteusbc.com to get all current information including the local qualifying windows for this event.
The 2016 Montana State Hall of Fame banquet will be held at the Radisson Colonial Hotel in Helena on Saturday, May 21. Inductees and ticket information are yet to be determined. The HOF application deadline is March 1st. Also, on that weekend is the annual Delegate's Election meeting to be held on Sunday, May 22 also at the Radisson Colonial.
The Montana USBC association will be celebrating its 10th anniversary during the weekend of May 21-22, 2016 in Helena also at the Radisson Colonial Hotel. This is also the final weekend of the Open State tournament. Festivities will be held during the Hall of Fame banquet and the Delegate's meeting.
